I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. One of the things that I remember from my childhood there was the rustic public spa that people would attend as part of a balanced lifestyle that had less of a focus on medical treatment and more of a focus on individual well-being. This lifestyle also included eating nutritious, organic foods and having regular social events to attend, fostering a sense of community and interconnectedness. I can remember still the feeling of being refreshed and renewed after spending a few hours at the spa.
Of course, my homeland has its challenges as well, and therefore in my twenties I moved to Canada with two of my siblings to begin a new life. I met my wife here in North Bay in 2000. While I am thankful for the opportunities and blessings that I have enjoyed here, I also realize that our modern society does not focus on well-being as much as it could or should. Many of us are too busy, rushed, or stressed to engage in healthy lifestyle choices. And because of this, our bodies suffer.
After working double shifts every day for several years in the restaurant business, I realized that I needed to take better care of myself. I had the desire to pursue an education where I could also care for others. This led me to become a Registered Massage Therapist.
I received my diploma in 2010 from the Ontario College of Health and Technology in Stoney Creek, ON. I was then fortunate to have the opportunity to practice in a variety of clinical settings throughout the GTA. This included work in spas, fitness facilities, corporate wellness, and a hospice. I also provide in-home massage for clients with limited mobility.
In 2013 my family and I returned to North Bay to begin the next chapter of our lives. It is my goal to serve this community as a wellness practitioner and to help my neighbours achieve the balanced lifestyles that we know deep down we deserve.
I truly look forward to working with you.
